Halloween Donuts
It’s all about the treats this Halloween with these pink and orange donuts. Packed with Autumnal spices and best enjoyed with a cuppa, while you’re cosy on the sofa!
I decorated half with pink glaze and half with orange, but choose to go for just one colour if you prefer!
Here’s what you’ll need;
- 200g GF plain flour
- 70g sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- Autumnal spices (1/4 tsp each of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger and mixed spice)
- pinch of salt
- 70g butter
- 1 egg
For the glaze;
- 4 tbsp icing sugar
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 2 tsp beetroot juice (for pink donuts)
- A couple of drops of red and yellow food colouring (for orange donuts)
Preheat the oven and grease a 12 donut baking tin.
In a bowl, mix all the dry ingredients together. Then add the wet ingredients and combine, adding a couple drops of water if necessary.
Add the mixture to the baking tray and cook for 8 minutes. Move to a cooling rack and allow to cool completely.
For the glaze, add the ingredients (apart from the seeds) into separate bowls (if making both pink and orange donuts) add a couple drops of water until the consistency is correct. Dip 6 donuts into the pink glaze and 6 into the orange glaze. Sprinkle the chia seeds over the top.
Enjoy!
